Swimming after school

Day 2 school

Lily supports Elle

First day of School

Elle's firs week of school

We skipped the official first week of school because we were out of town, so Elle started her first week of school at Moody last week. We got home in the late afternoon Sunday evening and scrambled around to get unpacked after being out of town for almost a week. Elle was so happy to be home with all of her stuff. I was worried that she still wasn't feeling well and well just worried in general about the whole school thing. David, being the sense of reason, said he really thought if she was feeling ok she needed to start school Monday. I knew he was right but kept coming up with reason after reason of why we should wait until Wednesday. Well, I told her right before bed that as long as she felt ok we would be starting school in the morning. She was so excited. She has been asking about starting school since we toured the school a month ago. She was still super excited in the morning, new clothes, new backpack, new and exciting adventure. Once we got there she was a little nervous but ok. When it was time for me to leave she grabbed onto me and held on for dear life screaming and crying IT WAS AWFUL. I have been on the teacher end of this before and it is no fun either but it sucks a million times more when it is your baby. I walked out of the classroom after the teacher pulled her off of me and lost it. Full blown balling. I just left my baby in a strange place with strange people scared out of her mind. What kind of parent am I. Her Daddy was as bad off as I was. We truly were questioning our decision. We decided to do this to give Elle a little time to make friends her own age basically. She has learned so much "academic" stuff from meemom that I feel like she is way ahead of where she "needs" to be. We are doing it for social reasons. She goes MWF from 9-12. As David was leaving to go to work ( he was ahead of me) she saw him from outside on the playground. She was rattling the bars of the playground screaming hysterically, Daddy come with you. Help Daddy. Help. David had to ask the teacher to take her back inside so she didn't have to watch both of us drive away. We barely made it. I went to my mom's and cried and David joined us over there. We basically convinced ourselves that we should take her out of this sick factory that it wasnt worth it. She cried almost the whole 3 hours she was there. This really killed us. David met Meemom, Lily and I at school to pick her up and we all celebrated our survival at the Rainforest Cafe. Wednesday I took her by myself. It was hard, she knew what was happening and was openly nervous. She cried a little less in the morning and when I picked her up they said she did so much better. She said she only cried 3 times. Friday came around and she was excited and nervous. She wants Lily and I to stay with her. There was much less crying when I left her and the teacher told David she did even better. So progress is being made. Her Daddy took her for ice cream as a friday treat. We survived week 1 and hopefully week 2 will be even better because Momma will be back at work come week 3 :(. Side note, after being there for a total of 6 hours (3 on mon and 3 on wed) she already had a minor cough and runny nose. Pray for super duper immune systems and strong parents.

Girls Trip/ Family Trip 2011

Well we had a wonderful time on our trip this year. Elle, Lily, Meemom and I piled in a perfectly packed to the max car and headed up to the hill country. We left on Tuesday AM after some last minute errands (including a trip to Specs for some hooch). We arrived in Wimberley laft afternnon and picked up our key to the cabin. Before heading out to the cabin on Smith Creek (which is currently dried up) we decided to eat in town. We chose the Burger Barn which was right across the street from the property management place. It was pretty good and we were happy to be out of the car. Although, when Meemom asked where the restroom was she was informed that there was only a port o potty outside. WTF, is this even legal. We then took Elle to DQ to get her first ever dip cone. She loved it. We headed to the cabin which didn't dissapoint. We stayed in the other cabin last year and we love the place. If you want to pretend like you are roughing it this is the place to be. Full kitchen, 2 bedroom, hot tub, big porches, all amenities just in the beautiful boonies. Wednesday we got up and headed to the outlet mall where we saw A BUNCH OF CRAP. Meemom and I have never not found great stuff at the outlet mall but it was a real dissapointment but easy on the pocket book. We then hit up Luby's! The girls only have so long for shopping etc before much needed naps. We love the proximity of Wimberley to everything else. Thursday we did some more shopping and made a quick unplanned trip into Gruene. Elle let me shop for a little while and then we hit the store and headed home. The boys joined us on Friday and we decided to head into Gruene for dinner. Elle was super quiet and not acting like herself at all at dinner. She had a temp once we got to the restraunt and wouldn't eat a thing. On the ride home she puked everywhere 4 times. This was the first time she has ever thrown up and it scared her and sucked really badly as we were winding down country roads back to the cabin. Poor poor princess. Finally about 3 or 4 she agreed to eat some pops and drink a little water. We slept in since we didn't sleep at night. Her temp broke and the whole family headed to the blue hole which was amazing! We had a wonderful time checking out the second biggest swimming hole in TX. Elle loved how adventerous her uncles and Daddy are. Meemom and Mommy are so not that way. I am petrified of snakes so I refuse to "explore" the property. We had a great time and can't wait until next year for the next trip.
I have many many more pics to post but I have to get them off Meemom's camera. will post soon!

Lily Grace 4 months old

Lily G,

You are so absolutely amazing.  You break a smile whenever anyone acknowledges you.  Your bright eyes and smile can light up an entire room.  Your adorable laugh and blonde hair don't hurt either!  You are scoop you up with a spoon sweet and edible. You are rolling over and able to hold your head up while playing in the exersaucer.  You carry on full conversations with anyone who will talk to you.  You love love love to nurse and get very excited at the sight of the boobie!  When I weighed you last week you weighed 15.6 pounds.  I don't know how long you are but we will find out tomorrow at your four month appointment!  You are a big girl and fill out the clothing and pajamas for 6-12 month or 9 month length.   You are absolutely a doll in every way.  Super super laid back and obsessed with your sister.  You love to watch her talk and play and sing.  She adores you as well.  I have been so amazed watching the two of you together.  Nothing makes me happier.  You were sleeping pretty well but the past few weeks have been waking up at least twice.  Yet as soon as I hold you on my chest or put you in my bed you are out, until I put you down!  We are working on that.  Need to get it figured out before I go back to work at the
end of Sept. (:( ).  I am loving this time with you and your sister.  I can honestly say, you were meant to be in this family!  I can't imagine life without you!  We are so happy to be a family of four.
Love,
Mama

Well at your check up yesterday you charmed everyone in the clinic . You wouldn't stop smiling and cooing at the nurse who was going to give you your shots! You and your Daddy showed off your tricks to the doctor. Elle liked on with a careful eye to make sure they were sweet to you. Elle turned to me during the appointment, while patting you and said "Mommy, I love her." You are so loved sweet girl. Your stats are 16.3 pounds(90th percentile) and 25 and 1/4 inches 90th percentile as well. Your head size is only in the 60th, not sure where you got a normal sized head, maybe from Meemom. Slow down the days please because they are flying by. Some days I desk like I need to pinch myself to make sure I am taking it all in. We are truly blessed!
