Slow your role sister. You are already six weeks old! I can't believe it. You were just born last week or so it seems. We really really really love you. You are such a sweet girl. Born with a head full of blonde hair and tan skin (thanks to jaundice). You are such a cuddle buggy. Sweet as sugar. You go with your flow and let your sister run the show, for now.
I already can't imagine what life was like before you were here. You are growing so fast. Last week I took you back to the doctor to check on your jaundice. The corners of your eyes still have a tinge of yellow and I wanted to make sure that you were OK. Your bilirubin level was a 7.8, which is fine. They took some blood from your heel to rule out some scary stuff and diagnosed you with breastfeeding jaundice. Basically, keep doing what we are doing and it will go away eventually! You did have 4 heel sticks in a row, in the first week of life. Your bilirubin level was high and we were fighting going to the hospital. We won, finally. At your appointment last week you already weighed 10.9 lbs and were 21 inches long. That is a 3 pound gain and you grew a whole inch. You nurse like a champ!
I had forgotten how much I love this newborn age. I adore it and you. Some nights you sleep really well in 4 hour increments and some not so much! Your poor tummy gives you trouble but I am hoping this will go away soon.

Lily Grace Buergler was born on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:10 am. She weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces and was 20 inches long! We are all doing great!

Almost 37 weeks

Well, I missed the Astros game due to some crazy ass upper respiratory infection that the dirty kids from school gave me and have been crazy sick. Onion to the rescue again and another z pac. I have been really trying to take care of myself but it is becoming more difficult. Please if you are reading this and have children LISTEN. If your children are sick, keep them home. I know it might be an inconvienence but it is your job as a parent. When you send your sick kids to school they get lots of other kids and teachers sick.
I went to my weekly check up on Tuesday after a grueling day of teaching while sick. Rushed up to Clear Lake ust in time to find out that my doctor wasn't there. She was at the hospital, I would have to see a nurse or PA. Which under normal circumstances would be OK but my doc has been monitoring my fluid since 34 weeks and goes the extra mile. Not to mention this close to delivery, I want consistency. I got lucky. She came back just in time for me to see her. I had already waited a LONG time and was missing my girl. I knew I was late for dinner with David's parents. Check up went well. Measuring a week ahead of schedule, heart beat sounds good. And then the ultrasound showed my fluid had dropped from a 10 to a 5.4. I was put in hospital to amp up my fluids with IV. I got really nervous and emotional. Scared. David came to stay with me and mom took elle. I wanted to hug on my baby. Good news is the ultrasound showed my fluid is back up!!! Home bound!! Bed bound. Discharge papers say bed rest, minimal walking, may shower, lots and lots of water. It is really hard to do bed rest with a 2 year old and 40 million things to do. But that is what must be done. I want Lily as happy and healthy as possible! Not too much longer but hopefully closer to 38 weeks.
Got to go drown myself with fluids. Say a prayer for a happy, healthy end to this pregnancy!
