Today is the day

Well cross your fingers that things go relatively smoothly today. As soon as I am done pumping, Pootie and I will go pick up the u haul. My moving help will be here at 9:30 and things aren't really ready. When we went to the trout house last night there was still lots of stuff everywhere. Please let it have been cleaned up this morning before we arrive. WE are under some serious time stipulations!! Did I mention that we are going HOME!! pictures coming soon :)

I want to go home......but buddy says he is quite comfy here

Well we were supposed to move home on Friday, July 31, 2009. It was gonna be crazy because the trout house wouldn't be ready until that day and we had to be out of our rent house on that day. crazy right! Well I started doing the math and just couldn't figure it out. I also had several people in my peanut gallery reminding me that there was no F**ing way that this would happen. The wood floors hadn't been laid and the tile wasn't finished. There was still no plumbing. The granite was laid with no overhang and had to be replaced. So I spoke with my friend and contractor and we decided to extend for 1 more week. Well that would be today! As of today the tile is mostly finished and the floors have been laid, stained and polyurethaned 3 times. They need 72 hours to dry and 2 weeks to "completely cure". They were laying baseboards and painting them today. Appliances were all delivered today. Plumbing happens this weekend or Monday. So WE ARE MOVING HOME ON WEDNESDAY! I am holding them too it. Elle's room and the guest bathroom still have to be painted. I am really struggling with the guest bathroom color. Bead board still needs to be put up in the guest bathroom. appliances need to be installed, plumbing, tile finished and the yard cleaned out of all the trash it has accumulated from this process. I so wish that I would have taken pics along the way. I didn't. I have pre IKE pics, post ike pics and will soon have newly finished house pics. The house looks amazing. We are very excited. David's design for the master bath turned out amazing. I have a beautiful kitchen now. We can't wait to go home. Housewarming party some time in sept. mark your calendars.

It is really gonna happen

This morning Meemom, Lola, Elle, Lupe and myself began our daily morning walk on the seawall. When we began a little after 8:00 a.m. it was 87 degrees, when we ended it was 101 degrees OUCH!! We were sweating our behinds off. After we got home and got cleaned up (and I convinced Meemom to participate in this adventure) we went to buy all of our appliances. We scored with the 4th of July sale. Momma is so stoked about her new steam washer and dryer and oven I can't even explain it. Then we had to venture to North H-Town to find our granite for the counters. It was my second time to a granite "yard" so I knew what to expect. Yet it was still a little weird. Although the first time I couldn't believe this was how it worked. So baby daddy and I walked around the yard and looked at 4,557,678 pieces of granite at 3 o' clock in the afternoon with NO SHADE. We were literally hiding behind pieces of granite to talk and compare notes. Finally i made a beeline for the car to hydrate while David "claimed" our rock. I have to say David and I are an amazingly efficient team when we work together! We ended with our weekly gtown family dinner at Sonny's. Happy 3rd of July. Party at KC's tomorrow. I can't wait to go HOME. It is really gonna happen. T-minus 27 days..... Stupid Hurricane Ike you can't win.
