Better late than never. found this in the drafts
Elle and I got so caught up in summertime that I was finding myself forgetting to write down our fun times. Highlights of Elle's summer: she stopped nursing. It was the most difficult thing I think that we have done but we did it! The N.J.(Yankee) burgers came for a much anticipated visit! We spent some great quality time with our cousins and aunt Catherine. I miss them dearly. Hard having your bestial live all the way across the country!!! Mommy and daddy went on a much needed anniversary trip to New Orleans. We took a girls trip (Frances x 3) to Wimberley. We then met up at Nana and Pap's house in Canyon Lake for a long weekend on the river. David, john cat and I even git to see the Gourds at Greene Hall. We had a blast! Summer time was wonderful. Elle loves the pool. I kind of can't believe its over. School is back in session and Mommy is back to work! Elle could be happier about being back at Meemom school. Although she misses sleeping in until 8 or 8:30. Me too sista me too.
My life as the queen bee in a house with two princesses, my prince charming, a cat and 3 dogs.

Girls Night Out ...
Last night 7 Galveston girls hit up The Steakhouse. I had actually never eaten there before. Let me say WOW...the filet with blue cheese sauce was unbelievable. I am really not that big of a steak girl. I like filet but am quite picky about my meat. This might be the best steak I have ever eaten. Roserika planned the evening for us so she gets the props. Meredith rocked it with the gift card. Kelly, Lea, Onion and Lisa provided great company. I heard some great stories of when and how some of these lovely ladies found out they were preggos. It is nice to get dolled up and eat out. The drinks flowed freely. I had my baby daddy and Elle drop me off their way to their dinner date at the Sunflower. Daddy ate pecan crusted snapper while he fed the pootie girl green beans. Fun was had by all. The pregnant Onion was the designated driver and a great one at that! Daddy told the waiter at the restaurant that I left he and pootie to bar hop. Daddy loves to make mommy look like a boozer! Wish I had a pic of the lovely evening.

Aunt Catherine, Eva, Johnny & Owen visit the Grock
We have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the N.J. Buerglers. They drove all the way from Tenafly N.J. to They stopped in Ohio to meet Baby Henry ( Drew and Sara's new baby). They also had a real life history lesson all the way down. Eva knew lots and lots of historical information that she enlightened her momma with. Elle was thrilled to see her cousins and Aunt ( & godmother). She was stoked to meet Owen too. The heat is intense here on the island especially for people from N.J. but they have acclimated easily. We have stayed cool at the beach and at the pools. We have eaten at several local places that have FRESH seafood. (Casey's, Yaga's, Sonny's and the GCC). We miss them so much but are so glad that they are here in Texas for the summer!! Elle is so ready for round 2 with her peeps.

Bitter Sweet
So we walked from 7-8:15. There was enough of a breeze until about 8. It remained under 90 degrees according to car temperature thing. Mom and I rewarded ourselves to fresh squeezed OJ and coffee from the sunflower bakery. We were happy we weren't dying but a little sad that we don't have an excuse to not get up so early. I think Aug. 1st will be the start of me and my pootie hanging in bed sipping coffee....meemom concurs. Happy July

We might have to rethink our morning walk. It is so damn hot by 9:30 a.m. that the dogs and the baby are SUFFERING. Mom and I were struggling today. 7:30 just seems so early for a summer day walk but it might be that or nothing! Summer = hot. That was yesterdays thought. So Today We went at 7:45 and still TOO DAMN HOT. It took Bruce literally 4 or 5 hours to completely cool off. He was panting and panting and just laying around. Poor boy. Elle was super stoked when we began our walk. She was just taking it all in the ocean, the ocean breeze, the dogs, the people and the sand. Until all of the sudden there was no ocean breeze and it was 100 degrees. I think we are gonna try to walk at 7 am tomorrow. Not sure it is worth it. Maybe I should go back to sipping my coffee (that my wonderful husband brings me in bed-when I'm good) and snuggling with my pootie while we watch GMA and surf the internet. I will let you know what we decide.

Memorial Day Weekend-yes I am backtracking and playing catch up.
We had an awesome Memorial Day Weekend. Friday night we had our weekly dinner at Sonny's. Saturday night we went to Zane's "weekend house" on the west end for a fabulous dinner and gathering. It was kind of a celebration for Kelly and Zane since the will be tying the knot very soon! We got some qt with our favorite Kearney girls, Zaney,The Walkers, Rosey, Benjy and Abby and Uncle Bain & Tiffany and Elle's favorites- Kate, Avery and Marley Grace. Sunday we went to the Biron residence (another beautiful home) to hang with those from last night and more. Elle got to kick it with IV as well. Check out that sunset.
