Elle's Week from H-E-L-L

Last Wednesday the sickness finally caught up with me. I could barely eat, sleep, breathe, swallow etc. I stayed home from work Thursday and Friday to rest and try to heal myself. I began antibiotics on Wednesday afternoon thanks to my saviour EK! I began to get a little better on Friday pm but still didn't really feel like getting out of bed. Friday night in the middle of the night Elle was restless and fussy. She was burning up. I gave her Tylenol and after several hours she went back to sleep. Saturday, David and I took her to the pediclinic (even though she had no more temp) where her throat, ears etc were clear and clean as a whistle. So, of course they suspect UTI. It took 4 people to unsuccessfully attempt to give her a catheter. They resorted to the bag. After being there for 3 hours she passed out. An hour went by and they let us go home without getting urine because of no temp. As soon as we left the doc she took a turn for the worst. She was miserable. Didn't want anything except Mama. Glued to me. LITERALLY!! Sick, lethargic. POOR SWEET BABY!! Sunday she woke up feeling somewhat better on and off. Apparently, she picked up pink eye at the clinic-AWESOME!! So Elle is on antibiotic eye drops and she LOVES them let me tell you! She fights us with all of her might. Both Sunday and Monday nights we were up all night with night terrors. Then on Tuesday I noticed a red small round spot on her eyeball. Things about the eye just freak me out. Wednesday it got worse. I had to have two small fillings at the dentist which was lots of fun. Last night (Wednesday) i just knew it was going to be a great night sleep for us all which we desperately need. Around 2 am Elle was fussing fussing. Her diaper felt wet on the outside so i changed her. She was scratching something fierce on her legs. When I looked she her legs, arms and a couple of places on her chest and back were covered in some sort of hives/rash. We ended up in an Aveno oatmeal bath (which i highly recommend) for itchy babies. Then we had to watch Clifford and have a snack to calm down at 3:45-4:45 AM. By 5 she was sound asleep but coughing and I had 30 min before I had to get up. So here we are-Thursday. It appears the weird dot on her eye is not any worse and possibly a smidgen better and the mystery rash is GONE- WTF???? Awesome but weird. Mom and Dad are as tired as we could possibly be and if i don't get sleep soon someone might die. Yet, i feel a sense of relief things have to calm down. Elle and I must get well and I think it is happening.
I talked to David this AM and he was straightening the house when he heard a horrible whimpering from the dogs outside that didn't stop. when he went to check he found Baby Samantha with a bloody eye due to a bite that Lupe gave her. David scooped her up and took her to the vet. She will be OK but is not at the moment and neither is Lupe since she is grounded for 10 years and got a butt whooping like she has never had. David said the puppy was bleeding everywhere and he was running red lights trying to get her there. So the saga continues but i can just feel it that tonight is going to be full of rest and we are going to have a great weekend. Can't wait to tell about it on Monday!!

On a positive note-Ms Lily Grace is making Momma so happpy with all those kicks and dancing she is doing in my belly. I love it. I am still measuring a week big. I lost 2 pounds which my ob/gyn snickered is not only odd at 6 months preggo but unheard of around the holiday times. Trust me it's only becuase I have been sick and not hungry. The appetite is back in full effect! We have an ultrasound on the 28th of this month and i can't wait to see her! xoxox
