Sonny's

Anyone who grew up in Galveston probably has been to Sonny's. If you haven't you should be ashamed of yourself. We spent many a Friday nights there when we were growing up. Friday night = gumbo. I have many fond memories of Sonny's growing up. After David and I moved home we didn't rediscover Sonny's for a couple of years. Yet when we did we were welcomed back with open arms. These people have known me since I was born. They knew my grandparents, father and mother. We decided that we would meet there weekly on Friday nights and introduce Elle to the tradition. It is lots of fun. Elle has become quite comfortable there. She began crawling on the pool tables there and even had her first grilled cheese and lollipop there. Well we have been going there consistently since Elle was born. We have missed a few Friday's here and there. Finally a month ago Larry thought Elle was reaching out to him. He said "wow "(with a big smile on his face) "finally." He soon realized that there was a big balloon right behind him and Elle wanted it badly. Elle is OBSESSED with balloons. They are so annoying yet such a savior at krogers. Anyway, Larry was a little crushed.
Well, we went to Sonny's last Friday for the first time in a couple of weeks.
We were greeted by the waitresses who wanted to know WHERE HAVE WE BEEN!!!! They really missed us. Then Larry's mother came and told me that Larry had put a reserved sign on our regular table the week before with a balloon tied to a high chair for Elle and we never showed. UGH. Talk about feeling horrible guilt. Well we are no longer allowed to miss our weekly Sonny's dinner.

Punjab and Easter Weekend

Well we had a very busy weekend. The Buergler Family weekend actually started early because we had Friday off. Friday morning Meemom and I took Elle to Baybrook to have her picture taken with the Easter bunny. When we arrived it was already a complete nightmare and we decided to shop instead. We did that and then headed home. That evening we went to Onion's house for the pre Punjab party. The food was amazing as always. Elle had a grand old time playing with rocks, playing in the mud and admiring Kate and Avery. We were all so happy to see mike and Liz. Mike seemed quite content. Saturday morning we had breakfast tacos and kicked it with Uncle Will. We then headed to Punjab. elle only lasted a couple of hours. Daddy and Will went to play golf. We had all intentions of returning to Punjab after nap but didn't make it. We did make it to see Avis. Sunday morning Elle discovered a basket full of all things imaginable. The Easter Bunny had paid her a visit. The 2010 Easter Bunny is pretty amazing. Elle was stoked. We went to pick up meemom on our way to an amazing brunch at the GCC; only to discover that the Easter Bunny had also visited her house. Only this Easter Bunny was even cooler and wiser. I mean he/she kind of blew our Easter bunny out of the water. I mean the personalized basket and all things Elle ADORES. We stuffed our faces with great food in great company. Uncle KC, Donny, Aunt Julie, Meemom, Uncle Will, Elle, David and I enjoyed lunch and the petting zoo that they had. Elle rode her first pony, petted her 2nd goat and was happy to see baby chickens, a pot belly pig and rabbits. Later in the afternoon Elle put her egg hunting skills (thanks meemom) to work. She picked up the eggs like a champ. She didn't even care that they were empty:)

Dancing With Elle

Elle is really not into tv or videos. She just doesn't pay attention. She would much rather be playing with something, someone or outside. The only two things on television that interest her are the local news (channel 13 baby) traffic report and Dancing With the Stars. I noticed this a couple of weeks ago while cooking. The tv had been left on all day for Lupe and Bruce. It happened to be on ABC because I watch the news in the morning. All of the sudden it gets really really quiet so i investigated. Only to find Elle staring at the tv and ocho cinco break it down. She began smiling and clapping and then spinning in circles. She now spins in circles daily! She loves it. Sometimes she spins with her hands on her hips. It is so darn cute. Well last night after watching a blip of Dancing With the Stars she began spinning/dancing. As she spun she moved closer and closer to her high chair. She then tripped over the back of it and fell and hit the back of her head on the floor. Poor baby girl. Daddy put in his two cents by saying that this is the absolute worst show in the history of television. Too bad Elle loves it!

Daddy's Girl

Elle has a new found obsession with her Daddy. I mean she has always loved him but this it taking it to a whole new level. Every time that he leaves the room she calls for him. She wants to know where he is at all times. She thinks about him often. Looking for him. She just can't help herself when she is around him. She grabs him and hugs him so tight right before planting a big old kiss on him. I know he is pretty irresistible! You are a lucky girl to have such a great daddy baby elle. He loves you so much Pooty J.

Meemom's Three Ring Circus

Anyone that knows Elle knows that she is ALWAYS happy if she is outside. She loves all things outside. Birds, trees, grass, wind, the sun, the moon, dogs etc. She is just plain smitten with nature. Well the past month or so meemom and elle have been spending the majority of their days outside. They always go for a walk but that is no longer enough. They now swing, run, rest, smell and plant flowers, jump on the trampoline, play ball and only god knows what else. Seriously, I think they are only inside for nap. This makes Elle the happiest girl alive.!! The last week before Easter, each day that I pull up to pick up my girl there are very exciting things going on. For example, one day there was a tricycle, bubble machine, sidewalk chalk, easter eggs and friends. They were really rocking out. Elle didn't even want to come home with me that day or any other day that week. I told meemom to tone it down so elle doesn't expect this everyday in the summer. Meemom school ROCKS!! I am jealous that i don't go every day. I feel bad for all the other babies in the world that don't get to go. But Elle doesn't :) She likes being numero uno! We are so lucky to have you Meemom (aka Ninny)

I never thought I would like Coldplay. Never gave it a chance. I will tell you what Fix You does it to me every time. I am obsessed with this song.
